Miss Gasser's 1st Grade Class

Instead of doing student teaching I decided to do a year-long internship in the Nebo school district. I was thrilled to get a position as a first grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary in Spanish Fork. I know it is going  to be more work than I can comprehend but I know be a wonderful growing experience. I already love my team and have loved setting up my classroom. I had to finish it by June 23, before leaving for my next big adventure, even though school doesn't start until August 19.  I have to say huge thanks to my Mom,  Brandon Brockbank, Jessica Anderson, Sarah, Kelsey, Krischelle, and all those who cut out hours of lamination, reupholstered a couch, stapled, set up my classroom, and patiently listened to me going back and forth on decisions until I was happy with how everything looked.

My best teaching friend Jessica Anderson and I made these one night when her husband was out of town. That girl is too creative for her own good and I am good at copying.
This is the bulletin board by my desk. To the right is our high flying chart. For good choices as a class the students can earn points that will get them a vacation party. We will then do a 20-30 min educational 'party'/experience as we 'travel to' and learn about a new country. I think I am more excited than they will be.
